It is not that spectacular view of the airport, but wanted to post this picture not to forget the moment I took this picture at there.

Interesting offer and great opportunity I guess. Too bad I cannot even apply for it cuz I am currently out of Korea now.
The Airline just rebuilt the Korean site, and I was pretty much sure that AA will have couple of direct flight to ICN from many US cities as the Visa Waiver Program is going to be applied to South Korean citizen.

Until now, as there is no Oneworld partner in Korea, AA had to rely on JAL for the East Asian market including Korea with its code-share flights. However, the famous routes such as ICN-NRT and GMP-HND are making big money for JAL, and JAL most likely would not be happy to share their seats with AA (As you know Code-Sharing is good for both carriers only when mother carrier has sufficient vacant seats and other carrier is not willing to open a route due to the high operating cost or lack of slots at the destination airport.)

It would be a good and nice transition for AA history to have a new nest at ICN, as Narita is full and expensive. Also opening routes may help AA to build it East Asian Market because currently AA only have few flights to NRT, KIX, Pudong,Delhi and will open a flight to Beijing in April 2010. In Fact, it is such a shame for AA. I truly understand that UA and DL (including NW) has fantastic and wide network in the area, because UA had chance to buy most of the pacific crossing routes from PanAm, and NW uses NRT as their East Asian Hub. However, one of the world's biggest airline takes such a small portion of the huge pie named East Asian market.

Yes, AA is late, but not too late. Hope to see the American airlines fleets in Korea soon.
